Scrappy Christmas Tree
I have tons of adorable Christmas sparkly scrapbook paper. The stuff makes me giddy! I was walking down the aisles of the dollar store the other day while looking for some stuff for a party I was throwing when I saw these floral Styrofoam beauties. That's when inspiration hit. I couldn't resist another paper project. These were perfect for making into trees. One down... one to go!
First, I cut out one corner of a 12x12 paper and bent it into a cone shape (I eyeballed it).
Then, with the remainder of the paper, I cut out a bunch of one inch strips.
Then, with the remainder of the paper, I cut out a bunch of one inch strips.
Then I curled each strip around a pencil to give it some dimension.
Then I cut each strip into one inch squares. I free handed this part so my squares were a bit mismatched. I figure it only gave my tree character... just like the rest of my house =). Then, I just started gluing it to the Styrofoam starting from the bottom. I added my tree top when I got near the top and then added a few more squares to make it blend a bit better.
And, again, here is the finished product! My little scrappy Christmas tree.
