How Kids Negotiate

my husband shared this article with me and I thought it perfectly described my children..I don't know about yours...read it- it's funny!

How kids negotiate
Herb Cohen said people should negotiate like kids because kids never take "no" for an answer. Some things kids do to get what they want:
1. They aim high.
"They make excessive demands," Cohen said. "You can't believe what they ask for sometimes."
2. They understand "no" is an opening bargaining position.
"When a mother says 'no' to them, they understand that it means, 'Not, right now. But I can ask again in 15 minutes,' " Cohen said.
3. They form alliances with grandparents.
"They get the grandparents to apply pressure," Cohen said. "They understand the grandparents and the children have a common enemy: the parents."
4. They are persistent.
"They don't give up," Cohen said. "They wear you down."

I am fascinated with the art of negotiation (although I am not good at it) and so I loved reading this article found in the Deseret News.  Very entertaining and informative. Go check it out.   To read the article go here.
