Ann Romney and mothers

Wow, I have been reading up about Ann Romney and how accused of never working a day in her life because she chose to be a stay at home mother.  There is a lot of different articles and opinions out there about it.  And I have a whole lot of things going on in my brain right now thinking about it all.  Here are some of my thoughts:

First of all, Mitt will be president not Ann, so it is sad that people are taking jabs at her.

Second, moms work and they work hard.  I think it is one of the hardest jobs.  And I know moms that will tell you that staying home was much harder than any paid job they ever had. Regardless of what the government believes about the definition of work.  (Moms are not all created equal though, some moms really don't care about their kids or don't take care of them).  In short, if it weren't for moms there would never even be a president of the United States or a qualified one at that.  Don't people value the education and life skills that people receive from moms?

Romney's new bumper sticker says, moms drive the economy...its true read here.  Advertisers appeal to mothers because they know this.  I particularly liked this quote "The mother at home raising her children makes a greater contribution to the economy than the father in the workplace,” Becker said as quoted by Fagan.

I looked up these mom job descriptions for fun...they are meant for a good laugh but in all honesty they are funny because they are so true.  The skills needed for successful moms are vast and good parenting has a direct effect on the world, on society, and even the economy.

My favorite article I read on Ann Romney was this one on her volunteer work experience.  She has done amazing things and I consider it a whole lot of hard work that she did for no pay just to better the world. Read here

And if you aren't done yet. . .here is a good article to end things on a better note...

Should be an interesting mother's day this year. lol.

  1. Those job descriptions were hilarious! Physical stanima of a pack mule? No wonder I struggle! I completely agree that stay at home mothers are committing themselves to a 24 hour job that never ends. We raise the leaders of tomorrow. Ann doesn't deserve this criticism.
