Daddy Dollars
Our family's latest behavior incentive was inspired by some close friends. I have young children, and have a strong desire to teach them how to work. But... my kids tend to think that working is HARD, BORING, and NO FUN. I don't know who told them that! Not me!!
My friend suggested the Daddy Dollar system. She mainly uses this while her older children are out of school during the summer, in order for her to maintain more routine. But, since my three kids aren't quite school age, we thought we would give it a try right away. So, with the help of good old google, I found the site http://www.festisite.com/money/. Here you can upload a picture of your hubby (Mr. Dad) onto a dollar, and print out your own money for free.
I use Daddy Dollars as rewards for good behavior, if they do service for each other, and if they do a job. Then they can turn around and use their Daddy Dollars to buy movie time and computer time (something that I feel my kids don't need on an everyday basis and the 'earn it' system helps me monitor this time), or they can earn ten Daddy Dollars and trade it for 1 real dollar. When my kids hit ten for the first time, we had a great lesson on tithing and then we had a fun trip to the dollar store. So far this has been very successful. My kids really get motivated by this! I have great dreams about them learning to love work, and teaching them how to save their money. Hmm.. hope it works!!

Anneka, this is so cute! We had "E" dollars in seminary(seminary teacher's face on them), but I love what you have done with this! I will definately be using this idea with Adelle (when she gets old enough :)).
